Hi, I’m Kat. I’m a multi-passionate artist who moved from Seattle, WA to Los Angeles, CA in 2018 with very few connections to the artistic community in my new home.
Being a multi-passionate artist (who still needs to pay the bills) and having a very small network, I’ve come up against a lot of self-doubt, overwhelm, and feelings of isolation while trying to remain productive and confident in my own artistic projects and ambitions.
Since moving, I’ve been very lucky to have (relatively quickly) plugged into a large, welcoming community of talented and successful working artists of all mediums in Los Angeles, as well as keeping close ties with my artistic community in Seattle.
Now, I want to share the love, knowledge, and encouragement I’ve garnered from these amazing people with you!
Artful Efforts was created just for us.
Here at Artful Efforts, you’re invited to get insight into other, generous artists’ processes and expertise as well as an opportunity to connect with artists all over the country.
I’ll also share my working process as I work on new projects to share what works and what doesn’t, so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I do.
I also review work, mainly dance performance, both virtual and in-person.
Artists are professional learners. Even the most seasoned and well-paid among us are constantly investigating in and learning new things.
